Project Overview
For this project in Boorley Green, the TM Landscapes team redesigned the rear garden to create a modern, low-maintenance space that the whole family could enjoy.
The finished garden combines artificial grass, new paved areas, raised planters, a slate water feature and carefully positioned lighting to create a practical outdoor space that works throughout the day and into the evening.
Modern Family Garden Design
A key part of the new garden design was giving different parts of the landscape a clear purpose. Rather than having one large open lawn, the space was divided into areas for seating, outdoor dining and family play.
New paved areas provide practical surfaces for garden furniture and entertaining, while the artificial lawn creates a soft, usable space at the centre of the garden. Raised planters were introduced around the garden to bring structure and greenery into the new layout. As well as providing space for planting, they help define the different areas and soften the surrounding hard landscaping.
Low-Maintenance Artificial Lawn
The original lawn was replaced with artificial grass to make the garden easier to look after while maintaining plenty of green space.
Artificial grass provides a neat surface throughout the year without the regular mowing, watering and maintenance associated with a traditional lawn. It also creates a practical area for children to use while complementing the surrounding paving and planting.
Water Feature & Lighting
A slate water feature creates an additional focal point within the garden. Its natural texture contrasts with the cleaner lines of the paving and artificial lawn, while the movement and sound of water add another dimension to the space.
Lighting was incorporated throughout the design so the garden could continue to be enjoyed after dark.
