Step 1
We begin with a short phone or video call to chat through your ideas, answer any questions, and make sure we’re the right fit for your project. After that, we’ll ask you to complete a short questionnaire we’ve prepared.
This helps us understand your priorities — whether that’s creating a space for entertaining, a family-friendly garden, low-maintenance planting, or a complete transformation — along with a few photos of your garden.
With this information, we can then provide you with an estimated design fee tailored to the size and scope of your garden.
Step 2
This stage is all about getting to know your garden and understanding what you’d like to achieve. Together, we’ll explore your ideas, look at inspiration, and refine your goals.
During the site visit, we’ll take measurements, photos, and a 3D scan of the space, while also considering practical details such as sunlight, soil, drainage, and access.
From this, we prepare a site analysis and a written design brief that captures your wish list and requirements.
Once you’re happy with this, it becomes the foundation for the design stage.
Step 3
With your brief in place, our first step is to carry out a site survey and 3D scan. This gives us an accurate picture of your garden and allows us to sketch out initial ideas. At this stage, we can freely explore different layouts and think about how to make the most of your space.
We then bring these sketches into our design software to see how the garden flows at scale. We also consider the sun’s path throughout the day, so that each area of the garden can be enjoyed at the right time, whether it’s morning coffee in the sun or evening dining in the shade.
From there, we create simple concept designs for you to review, which we’ll refine together into the final plan. To help bring the vision to life, we also prepare a mood board of images and elements that reflect the style and atmosphere we’re aiming for.
We’ll prepare 2–3 scaled 2D concept plans along with example materials, planting styles, and product suggestions that reflect your style and aspirations.
We then meet with you to review the concepts, gather your feedback, and carry out revisions. Your input is crucial at this stage, and our aim is to refine the design or a combination of the initial concepts until it truly feels like your garden.
Step 4
After creating the initial concepts and mood board, the next step is to arrange a follow-up meeting to review the designs together. This gives you the chance to share which elements you like best from each concept. Quite often, the final design becomes a blend of two ideas, or includes details taken from each.
At this stage, we also discuss materials and provide draft costings so you can see how the design aligns with your budget. If adjustments are needed, we explore options such as alternative materials or scaling back certain areas to help manage costs without losing the overall vision.
Your feedback from this meeting then shapes the final detailed design. We also prepare supporting drawings, including dimensions, levels, and cross-sections, to give a complete picture of how the garden will come together. All revisions are included within the design fee, so the process stays collaborative and transparent.

Step 5
With the concept agreed, we refine the design into a detailed plan. This includes a scaled layout with clear zones and features, alongside a more developed palette of planting and materials.
We also provide a itemised quotation for the works. If you’d like, we can add optional extras such as 3D visuals, a walkthrough video, or even a 360° virtual tour, giving you the chance to fully imagine the finished garden before construction begins.

Step 6
Once your design is signed off, we prepare a full technical pack to make sure everything is ready for construction. This includes the master plan, planting plans and schedules, surfacing layouts, setting-out drawings, and detailed construction notes.
You’ll also receive a clear, itemised quotation so you know exactly what’s included before moving into the build stage, ensuring there are no surprises along the way.
Step 7
Before work begins, we’ll confirm start dates, timescales, and schedules so you know exactly what to expect. Our experienced landscaping team will then bring your garden to life with skill, precision, and care.
Throughout the build, we’ll keep you updated and remain on hand to answer any questions, making sure the whole process feels smooth and stress-free.
Step 8
Once the build is complete, we’ll walk through the garden with you to check every detail. If any final tweaks are needed, we’ll create a snagging list to ensure everything is finished to the highest standard.
We only sign the project off when you’re completely happy. To help your new garden flourish, we’ll also provide guidance on aftercare and maintenance.
