Project Overview
The customer’s existing deck was in disrepair, with rotting frame and boards rendering it unsafe. To address this, we undertook a comprehensive overhaul to restore and enhance the deck’s functionality and safety.
We started by installing a robust new timber frame. This included setting 4×4 posts securely in concrete, laying 6×2 joists every 400mm for structural integrity, and adding support noggins every 600mm to reinforce the framework.
To ensure durability, we treated the entire frame and all posts with Bitumen, a waterproof and corrosion-resistant coating designed to significantly extend the lifespan of the decking structure.
In response to the customer’s request, we also constructed additional steps on either side of the deck, enhancing accessibility and safety.
The final touch was the installation of high-quality composite decking boards in a sophisticated ‘Olive Green’ shade, giving the deck a modern, durable finish that complements its improved structural integrity.
